  • A teaspoon or two of balsamic vinegar can awaken the flavor in a bland soup, stew, or sauce and bring out flavor in strawberries.

  • Vinegar is an excellent ingredient for marinades because it is a natural meat tenderizer.

  • When cooking seafood, it is better to add a touch of vinegar when the seafood is already cooked to enhance its flavor.

  • Vinegar is widely used as a food preservative because it reduces the pH level of foods, which helps avoid the growth of bacteria.

  • When using vinegar, do not use aluminum pots or containers, which can react to the acidity. Use glass instead.
